Studio Fun International: ASPCA Kids: Rescue Readers {#MomsMeet Review & Giveaway}

It has been a few months since we started our adventure of homeschooling and our favorite past time is going to the local library to check out new books to read or going through the new books at the bookstore on special occasions.  So when Moms Meet asked me to do a review of Studio Fun International's new book series, ASPCA kids: Rescue Readers, I jumped at the opportunity.

Studio Fun International, recently teamed up with one of my favorite non-profit organizations, the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and published a series of children's books called ASPCA kids: Rescue Readers.  The ASPCA is a great organization that helps rescue abused animals and provides animal health services in communities.

There are four stories available in the I Am series and are a Level 2 reading level.  While each story is based on a real life rescue, the books are written from the animal's perspective and includes photographs of the actual pet that inspired each story and emphasizes the importance of properly caring for animals.

Each book also contains a "Letter to Parents" that shows you how to explain the connection of the story to the real life story of the animal and ASPCA's role in helping the animal.

One of the added bonuses of purchasing ASPCA kids: Rescue Readers is that not only are they relatively inexpensive ranging from $3.99 for one book to $15.96 for all four, ASPCA will be awarded a 4% to 5% donation for each book sold.

My daughter and I loved the entire series.  As a person who loves animals and has adopted several dogs from rescues, I know that I will enjoy reading these books to my children for years to come.

Win It!

You now have the opportunity to enjoy Rescued Readers too by entering in the chance to win two  Rescue Reader books.

  1. I don't really have an animal rescue story although I feel like I rescued both our good for nothin' cats! One was being given away in a bag at the park. The other I bought but from a really mean, grouchy guy. My stepdaughter does all the real animal rescuing around here. She finds dogs all the time and makes sure they get returned to their owners!
